Our wananga/courses are largely foundation in content so that people can get an easy start in the pursuit of what interests them and are growing their knowledge levels to the point where they are feeling degrees of confidence in themselves to master or complete a skill or craft or technique.

We adopt the three step strategy of foundation/basics level then to intermediate level then to advanced/mastery level as our approach to learning in our wananga.

Our Wananga Tikanga

• Learner centered – Student focus learning
• Scafolded Learning – Foundation to intermediate to mastery
• Blended Learning – Online, face to face & modular
• Kanoho ki te kanohi – Face to face, tutor to student learning

This approach from our experience enables participants to identify where they are best to place their attention for their learning needs. For us, watching participants grow into their mastery of a skill, craft, technique of capability is the greatest thing and is the best reassurance we need to affirm our presence in communities. On the horizon, we will be integrating online/e-learning.

He iti te mokoroa, naana I kati te kahikatea – The mokoroa (grub) may be small, but it cuts through the Kahikitea…
